Zholion provides vacuum leak testing equipment for pharmaceutical packaging, medical devices and container closure integrity testing (CCIT). Our vacuum decay systems are designed for quantitative, non-destructive package integrity testing and can be configured for different container sizes, package geometries and testing requirements.
Available equipment includes the MC-V12 Vacuum Decay Leak Detector, RC-V12 Automatic Vacuum Decay Leak Detector and MC-DUO(VP) Dual System Packaging Leak Detector.
Whether you need laboratory equipment for CCIT method development or an automated system for higher-throughput quality control, Zholion can help select suitable vacuum decay testing equipment according to your package type, product state and required detection capability.
Vacuum Decay Leak Testers
MC-V12 Vacuum Decay Leak Detector
The MC-V12 is recommended for pharmaceutical laboratories requiring a dedicated vacuum decay leak tester for routine package integrity testing and method development.
Typical applications include:
● Pharmaceutical vials
● Ampoules
● Prefilled syringes
● Cartridges
● Bottles
● BFS containers
● Selected rigid and semi-rigid packages
It is suitable for users who need flexible laboratory testing with package-specific chambers and fixtures.
Recommended for: Laboratory CCIT, method development and routine quality control.
RC-V12 Automatic Vacuum Decay Leak Detector
The RC-V12 provides automated vacuum decay testing for applications requiring higher test efficiency and more consistent sample handling.
Compared with a conventional laboratory vacuum leak detector, the automatic configuration can reduce manual sample handling and improve repeatability when larger numbers of pharmaceutical packages need to be tested.
Recommended for: Higher-throughput pharmaceutical leak testing and routine production quality control.
MC-DUO(VP) Dual System Packaging Leak Detector
The MC-DUO(VP) combines vacuum decay and pressure decay testing in one system.
This provides greater flexibility when a laboratory needs to evaluate different package structures. Vacuum decay can be selected for suitable rigid or semi-rigid packages, while pressure decay may be more appropriate for flexible packages that deform significantly under vacuum.
Recommended for: Laboratories testing multiple pharmaceutical packaging formats.
How Does Vacuum Leak Testing Equipment Work?
Vacuum decay leak testing places the package inside a sealed test chamber and applies a controlled vacuum around it.
After the required vacuum level is reached, the system monitors changes in chamber pressure. If the package contains a leak, gas or vapor escaping from the package may cause the chamber pressure to rise.
The vacuum decay leak tester measures this pressure change and compares it with established test criteria.
Because the package normally remains unopened and undamaged, vacuum decay is widely used as a non-destructive method for pharmaceutical container closure integrity testing.
Which Packages Can Be Tested?
Zholion vacuum leak testing equipment can be configured for different pharmaceutical and medical packaging, including:
● Glass and plastic vials
● Ampoules
● Prefilled syringes
● Cartridges
● BFS containers
● Eye drop bottles
● Nasal spray bottles
● Pharmaceutical bottles
● Medical device packages
● Other sealed rigid or semi-rigid containers
A package-specific test chamber or fixture is normally required to reduce dead volume and obtain reliable measurements.
Different package sizes and shapes can often be accommodated by changing the test chamber, fixture or sample holder.
How to Choose Vacuum Leak Testing Equipment
When selecting vacuum decay testing equipment, consider the following factors:
Package Type and Size
Provide the package dimensions, material and closure configuration. Different packages may require different test chambers or fixtures.
Product State
Vacuum decay can be configured for packages containing liquids, lyophilized products, powders or other suitable contents, but product characteristics may influence test parameters.
Required Detection Capability
The target leak size or Maximum Allowable Leakage Limit should be considered during method development and equipment selection.
Testing Throughput
For laboratory testing and smaller sample quantities, the MC-V12 may be suitable.
For applications requiring higher throughput and standardized handling, consider the RC-V12 automatic system.
Package Flexibility
Highly flexible packages can deform significantly under vacuum. In these cases, pressure decay or another CCIT technology may be more appropriate.
